Thrilling to have my poem The Somnambulist of Sceilig Mhór selected by the extraordinary poet/editor Nidhi Zak/Aria Eipe. Poetry Ireland Review, Issue 141. Published December 2023.

I’m buoyed with joy to be the joint first-place winner for my manuscript, ‘We Fall, We Carry‘. My chapbook will be published next year and launched at my favourite festival, the Cork International Poetry Festival. Huge gratitude to the adjudicators for selecting my collection and to the Munster Literature Centre for their tireless work supporting the literary community of Cork and beyond. Massive congratulations to the co-winner, Katie Hale. I can’t wait to read her work!

Delighted to be invited to share poetry and chat with stellar poets Molly Twomey and Audrey Molly in association with Jacar Press. Come join us on Wednesday, December 3rd, at 7pm. Email jacarpress@gmail.com for the Zoom link.

Looking forward to reading at Ó’Bhéal go Béal’s Winter Warmer Festival alongside a cast of luminaries. Tickets are free and all are welcome!
Huge thanks to Jennifer Horgan for hosting this interview. We chatted about Patrick Kavanagh, the shape of words, and the supportive writing community of Cork.

It’s very lovely to be shortlisted for the Aesthetica Creative Writing Award again. Sweetest thanks to the judges.

Thrilled to have been placed third by adjudicator Jessica Traynor for the Waterford Poetry Prize. Thank you to Margaret Organ, Arts Officer of Waterford City and County Council.
Thank you to Ruth McKee from Books Ireland for this discussion on all things bookish.
What an honour to be the recipient of The Patrick Kavanagh Award 2025. This year’s adjudicator was acclaimed poet Victoria Kennefick who described Róisín’s winning collection ‘We Fall, We Carry ‘ as “poems of sometimes devastating vulnerability, humour and considerable skill with an intelligent point-of-view that is all Leggett Bohan’s own “. A very worthy winner.
Huge gratitude to Darren McCreesh for a weekend of community, art & celebration. Wholehearted grá to Victoria Kennefick, what a thrill to have my work chosen by a poet & human I greatly admire. It was lovely to meet Art Agnew of The Patrick Kavanagh Society and to experience unexpected acts of kindness from people I’d never met before. Thank you for the organic apple and the singsong in the car, Armagh Rhymers, and thank you to the unknown person who paid for my coffee! Poetry pals, wonderful to share ‘The Monster’s Back’ with you all! I’m sure PK would be cheering us on! For those who couldn’t join us this year, I was thinking of you. ![]()

Looking forward to sharing this event with three exquisite poets whom I admire: Jennifer Horgan, Lianne O’Hara and Martin Dyar. Equally grateful to the fine humans of Dublin Book Festival for inviting us. Tickets are free, but booking is essential. See you there!

So lovely to have my poem featured on RTE Radio 1 in conjunction with a Culture Night commemorative compilation heralding the late and brilliant Seán Rocks. Huge gratitude to Belinda McKeon for curating this thoughtful programme and for selecting ’13 Ways of Looking at Ghosts’.
